They don’t only draw about war, but what we do here too. A teacher at the Boynuyogun camp said: “What we do here is reflected in their drawing very positively. The UN’s children’s agency UNICEF has said it has reports of youngsters being arrested and tortured. Among that number, at least 400 children are thought to have been killed. It also estimates more than 8,000 people have been killed. The United Nations estimates that nearly a quarter of a million people have been forced to leave their homes by the violence in Syria. For hundreds of families, that means a tented village in Boynuyogun which has established a mosque, a hospital and a school. ![]() Thousands of Syrians have fled the fighting in their country to make a temporary home in camps just over the border in Turkey.
